I had planned to pay monthly for edits over a year or so starting in 2022 or 23 with a new job and a higher paycheck…and then over the course of like 3 months, inflation ate up essentially everything I’d gained, so I had to choose between that and eating. Who’d have thought writing would turn out to be an expensive pursuit?
Truth is, I ran out of money and only had the first 40k or so words professionally edited, so I can only assume it's all down hill from there. Maybe one day, but the problem with sharing stories you wrote 2+ years ago is now I can't help feeling it's all crap lol.

I know how you feel. I had a developmental edit done on my book, pricey to say the least, but then didn't have enough for copy editing.
